Job Description:
Stockton & Kandt, LLC is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medicaid Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Medicaid planning and a passion for assisting the elderly and their families. As a Medicaid Legal Assistant/Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys and clients through the Medicaid application process and other related legal matters. Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
Key responsibilities:
· Draft legal documents, including Medicaid applications and appeals.
· Conduct legal research on Medicaid regulations and policies.
· Maintain and update case files.
· Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and external parties for documentation.
· Prepare and file Medicaid applications and related documents.
· Monitor application statuses and provide updates.
· Assist in preparing for hearings and administrative proceedings.
· Provide administrative support, including scheduling and correspondence.
· Stay updated on Medicaid regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
· Paralegal certification preferred.
· Minimum of 1 year of legal assistant/paralegal experience in Medicaid planning or elder law preferred.
· Strong understanding of Medicaid rules and regulations preferred.
· Exceptional detail orientation and accuracy in all work.
· Concierge mentality towards clients and referral partners, ensuring personalized and attentive service.
· Strong written and verbal communications skills.
· Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality.
