POSITION: Associate Teacher for Great Start Readiness Program

HOURS: Monday through Thursday classroom, Friday planning

RATE OF PAY: $23,173.20/year

REPORTS TO: GSRP Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or the equivalent; OR a valid classroom CDA credential required.
• Existing 120 hour approval.
• Experience working with Preschool Children preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Helps to plan varied activities for preschool children using the Creative Classroom Curriculum
• Participates in home visitation with all enrolled families twice a year
• Participates in Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year
• Follows consistent routines and limits
• Makes all children feel comfortable, secure and loved
• Insures health and safety of children at all times
• Helps to provide regular feedback to parents about their children
• Helps to maintain a portfolio on each child using the Teaching Strategies Gold
• Assists families with resource referrals
• Enforces the discipline policies and procedures stated in the parent handbook and staff handbook
• Maintains classroom orderliness
• Works with the Lead Teacher and Director of Early Childhood Programs to plan field trips and special activities
• Attends Early Childhood Curriculum meetings
• Helps to plan parent education/involvement activities
• Other duties as assigned
