Stifel is Hiring a Data Governance Senior Analyst Near Saint Louis, MO

Summary

This role will assist to advance and mature the Firm's data governance capabilities, support the development of our ability to actively govern data, build consensus on data policies and rules, and train the Firm on data governance methods. The Analyst is responsible for supporting the Data Governance team in maintaining the Firm-wide data classification and security, quality and management guidelines via regular communication with Data Stewards and Data Owners of business units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and help document comprehensive artifacts and standards outlined in the Data Governance Program, including data governance and financial services industry best practices.
  • Support the development of data standards, as well as methods to evaluate the adherence of those standards and policies.
  • Assist Data Governance Manager by analyzing, identifying the reason/s and helping organize them to conform to Stifel Data Policies (Data Governance Program Guide)
  • Facilitate collaboration and cross-functional partnerships in the data stewardship community in order to solve the Firm's most pressing data governance challenges.
  • Assist in the development of the stewardship community with policies reviews and enforcement (Per Stifel data Policies of Documentations and Artifact Management).
  • Mentor and lead other Data Governance Analysts to advance their knowledge and expertise in advancing themselves and Data Governance goals.
  • Evaluate and support Data Governance solutions and tools used in the documentation of the flow and usage of data through the Firm.
  • Ability to understand the firm’s business processes and interaction of those processes and the data used in them.
  • Support change management, communication, training, and education initiatives that advance the Firm's data governance abilities and maturity.

Qualifications

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to create detailed policy documentation and communicate key policy concepts clearly to leadership.
  • Knowledge of data governance best practices and technology issues related to management of enterprise data assets.
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing together diverse groups of stakeholders to solve complex business problems.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently with an eye towards attention to detail and committed to deadlines.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum Required: 5 years’ experience related to data governance and/or data analytics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
