Sterling St James is Hiring a Portfolio and Asset Management Supervisor Near Los Angeles, CA

Purposes:

Assisting in the management of portfolios and assets for power plant and battery storage assets owned and operated by the Company in Los Angeles, CA.


Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Vice President/Director of Portfolio & Asset Management and collaborating closely with colleagues from Portfolio & Asset Management, Accounting, and Finance departments. The chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the following tasks:

  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of monthly invoices to various counterparts.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, proforma, presentations, monthly asset manager reports, and monthly reports to shareholders.
  • Ensure oversight and compliance of project permits and licenses. Aid Legal in FERC's registration of management changes.
  • Update and monitor current and new agreements including Resource Adequacy agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Gas Purchase agreements, Insurance, Energy Management Agreements, etc.
  • Assist in managing project finance/credit agreements, obligations, letters of credit, collateral, and parent guarantees.
  • Support plant operational issues such as forced outages, unplanned expenses, and financial impact analysis.
  • Review merchant power plant asset data and update monthly earnings projections. Assist in discussing merchant risk with project partners.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science, finance, economics, accounting, or related field.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office products.
  • Experience in managing complex financial models using Excel.
  • Familiarity with project documents of operating assets/project companies, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset for continuous improvement and motivation to learn.
  • Preferably has experience within the electric power generation industry, including asset management or operations roles.
