Specifics of the role
* Support the Project Manager as needed to ensure a successful execution of a project with the client and our subcontractors.
* Track materials and manage costs.
* Learn from the Project Manager and Superintendent.
What we expect
* Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager to successfully execute a project. The APM should have desire to learn from the Project Manager and be able to successfully execute specific subtasks of project management.
* Assistant Project Manager will help manage scope with our subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
* Support in the management of supplier procurement and contracts.
* Monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the project(s), ensuring timely delivery and appropriate billing.
* Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices.
* Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with the construction documents.
* Monitor deviations in project scope and communicate with the Project Manager
* Maintain job files to ensure continuity of work flow.
* Review and track project invoices to ensure appropriate billings and manage material needs.
* Generate, review, distribute, and track RFI's.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

* Travel is required for this position due the nature of our work. Our projects are typically based in the Southeast, and we have recently expanded our footprint in other East Coast areas. Travel could consist of day-travel, multi-day travel, or work onsite for a project from a few weeks to monthly.

* Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering or 3 to 5 years of project engineer or assistant project management experience.
* 1 to 5 years of experience in the management field of sitework construction projects: erosion control, excavation, and utility installation.
* Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
* Previous experience of successful support to a project team.
* Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and traverse slopes.
* May be required to lift and carry short distances up to 50 pounds.
