Plant Maintenance Class C

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for maintaining facility security.

Initiate work orders for maintenance.

Use carpentry/mechanical skills as needed, including using power and hand tools.

Use welding skills as needed.

Fill propane as needed.

Inspect dock plates, wheel chocks, and rollup doors and perform maintenance as needed.

Inspect red/green lights, flood lights and fans in warehouse and repair as needed.

Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly checks on equipment and facilities.

Ensure buildings are clean at all times.

Work on material system as needed.

Change filters in the grinding room as needed.

Operate forklift as needed.

Education and/or Experience :

One year certificate from college or technical school; or six month to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to pass both a written and hands-on performance test to obtain a Sterilite Forklift License.
