How this position makes a difference:

This position performs Human Resources-related administrative activities to include the new hire process, exit process, HRIS maintenance, payroll, benefits, and accurate record maintenance. Additionally, understanding, communicating, and when applicable administering company policies and procedures with management and employees. Administers and manages employment-related issues including alleged misconduct, unemployment insurance responses, and leave of absence from work including FMLA, PFL, etc. All processes will be documented and recorded as necessary.


Your responsibilities:

  • Enter employee data to include new hire processing, pay structure maintenance and upgrades, separations, and employee questions and concerns. Assists in benefit enrollment and benefit plan documentation.
  • Maintains candidate/employee records, both electronic and hard copy. Files various paperwork related to applicants, candidates, and employment, to include changes in pay, performance evaluations, pre-hire documents, and corrective actions; responsible for culling records as needed.
  • Provide occasional coverage for processing weekly payroll: review the information for completeness and accuracy; contact various department leaders for any missed times or unapproved timecards; time card preparation; tracking; process weekly payroll data per established routines and deadlines; tax garnishments; investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors; 401k and benefit change transmittals, calculation, and submission; complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications; ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines; maintain payroll records.
  • Responsible for onboarding process for direct hire individuals to include writing offer letters, issuing offers, scheduling pre-employment screenings, communicating screening clearance to applicable departments, issuing new hire paperwork, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Coordinates and administers company benefit plans (open enrollment, changes, plan document storage) including: health, dental, life and optional insurance plans, Section 125 plans, retirement plan, COBRA, disability benefits, FMLA, and other LOA reporting, etc.
  • Reconcile HR related invoicing to include but not limited to: temp billing; background/physical assessments etc.
  • Develops and maintains internal instruction guides on all administrative procedures, updating as necessary. Interpret policies, answer questions, and counsel associates regarding policies.
  • Contact and liaison to Human Resource-related resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory oversight entities. Sets up and coordinates, or crafts and presents HR training programs as required or requested.
  • Develop and prepare a variety of HRIS reports, including HR KPI, compensation, new hire, and termination reports. Additionally, creating and managing job requisition and applicant process.
  • Maintains employee policies, rules and handbooks, and job descriptions including maintenance, upgrades, filing systems, and formatting. Also maintain HRIS databases, job analysis databases, and intranet. Verify accuracy of data, investigate causes of discrepancies, and make necessary corrections.
  • Prepare documents for data entry of employee changes, terminations, etc. Administers, manages, and documents employment-related issues specific to risk assessment and mitigation, to include but not limited to stay and exit interviews, investigations of alleged misconduct, unemployment insurance responses, return-to-work, disability documentation/communication, FMLA and other LOA reporting, etc.
  • Liaison with temporary staffing companies; coordinates hour tracking and billing and other issues with temporary staffing agencies.
  • Assist in coordinating exit process for terminating employees; conducting exit interviews; update and maintain HR Exit Interview database information.
  • Assist management with disciplinary and other personnel issues. Counsel associates on performance and behavioral issues.
  • Manage intranet as required or requested.
  • Maintain employee files, electronic and hard copy; researching files when needed.
  • Assist in a variety of HR projects as required or directed.
  • Provide onboarding support for new hires and hiring managers.
  • Provide assistance with interviewing candidates as required or directed.
  • Responsible for unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
  • In conjunction with managers provide assistance and coordination with the temporary resource requests by managers.
  • Create, update and maintain organizational charts.
  • Prepare miscellaneous HR-related Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as required or needed.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment.
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and all company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

  • Performs duties as workload necessitates. Carefully monitors workload and adjusts to ensure work is completed both timely and in an accurate manner
  • Maintain a work environment that is safe and healthy and meets regulatory standards

You bring these qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in business or related field
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, some of which includes Human Resources lead experience.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking
  • Knowledge of general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Knowledge of effective customer service practices
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems in tracking candidates and employment transactions
  • Knowledge of various employment laws related to sourcing and employment
  • Knowledge of payroll policies and programs and reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of benefit plans and systems and reporting requirements
