Job Title: Overnight and Weekend Care Staff Reports To: Clinical DirectorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary: The primary purpose of this role is to provide supervision for our clients and to ensure their safety while building a rapport with them. This includes providing assistance to each client in working with a group and in handling individual problems; responsibility for setting of limits for behavior; creating documentation of the clients progress; identifying the possible need for professional services and communications of such findings to professional staff.Weekend Shifts 8:00am - 8:00pm & 8:00pm - 8:00amWeekday Shifts 5:00pm – 12:00am & 12:00am – 8:00am (Shifts may vary by 30min depending on the day of the week)Duties and Responsibilities 
  1. Responsible for whereabouts of residents and what they are doing at all times.
  2. Monitor resident’s behaviours.
  3. Facilitate residential daily schedule including participating in, and providing support to residents, to include but not limited to, activities such as chores, deep clean of designated space, meal service, laundry service, groups, activities, and events.
  4. Carry out regular checks on residents.
  5. To administer medication at designated times, as prescribed by the GP.
  6. Assist with planning individual care for residents as needed.
  7. Communicate with the Clinical staff both verbally and in writing about the residents’ general condition and developments in the home.
  8. Rotate being on call in case emergency coverage is needed.
  9. To answer the telephone and take messages as required.
  10. Take residents out on outings.
  11. Oversee visitation.
  12. Perform some case management tasks (e.g., set up medical appointments, daily living skills, resume writing, insurance enrollment).
  13. Write case notes during each shift.
  14. Practice compliance with all policies, record keeping requirements, assigned documentation, and any other assigned duties.
  15. Ability to manage time effectively and to multi-task.
  16. Remain current and up to date on all training and certifications required to maintain employment with Steps For Change- Adult Residential.
  17. To have good knowledge of fire, emergency, first aid, CPR and security procedures

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.Education/Experience:High school diploma or GED from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
