Overview

Stellar is seeking a General Superintendent to be responsible for direct supervision of superintendents and their field staff assigned to Industrial Refrigeration projects. You will work to direct, support, and assist the superintendents in schedule, technical, budgetary, labor, subcontractor, and safety issues that may arise during the ordinary course of project construction and work to overcome those issues. You will provide leadership, share technical expertise and experience to other Stellar staff, set the example relative to maturity, attitude, and work ethic, show good professional appearance and perform as a self-managed individual.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Superintendents and their crews as required
• Complete disciplinary warning and action forms when required
• Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure that there is a good level of communication
• Confer with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and
• grievances within work force
• Evaluate subcontractor performance on projects and alerts the management staff if there are any issues
• Enforce Stellar, OSHA, and owner polices or job safety policies
• Liaise with Engineering and Project Managers to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
• Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, required manpower, etc.)
• Advises senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assists in circumventing/resolving such problems as required
• Visit sites regularly to check progress, quality, and safety
• Ensure all weld certs and procedures are on the job as well as all safety and OSHA postings
• Rig Welder/Subcontract labor qualification process should be followed and assure no one is onsite without meeting requirements
• Work with the Safety Department to ensure that our employees are properly trained and documented
• Ensure that all test forms and documents are completed and put into job file
• Communicate with our customer to ensure that we are meeting their expectations
• Perform regularly scheduled site visits to inspect the projects for conformance to schedule, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Identify deficiencies in the field and in the drawings and specifications

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in industrial refrigeration
• 10 years combined experience working as a Superintendent, Project Foreman, or both
• Knowledge of Procore software
• OSHA 30-hour certification
• RETA Level 1 & 2 certification
• 60% travel nationwide
