Job Title: Senior Network Architect

Job Location: Torrance, CA

The role is to management, design, and architecture of our next generation data center and campus networks including software-defined networks, and cloud edge networking. You will work closely with outsource partners to build new and drive client network projects. Interfacing at the business level as well as with the technical side to produce the blueprint for a complex, large-scale, integrated network and voice infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage our most prominent network products, including hardwired and wireless networks, virtual private networks, firewalls, telephony, research networks, and more.
• Responsible for overall network and voice architecture.
• Install, configure, and maintain all network devices and services (e.g switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN).
• Perform network maintenance and upgrades as required.
• Provide senior technical leadership across all IT infrastructure areas, including servers, storage, and cloud.
• Monitor network for performance, availability, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot and act as a point of escalation for network related issues.
• Develop detailed documentation of all network systems and configurations.
• Continuous development and improvement of networking processes and procedures.
• Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies to ensure that NFE’s network is always operating at the highest level.
• Partner with IT and the business to manage and participate in projects with network responsibilities and dependencies.
• Manage vendor relationships with network equipment suppliers, ISP’s, telecommunications providers, low voltage cabling providers, and network software vendors.
• Identifies and plans for the development of shared IT infrastructure.
• Closely work with all IT to continuously improve our network performance, system resiliency and customer experience.
• Implement projects, systems, and issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization including keeping disaster recovery plans up to date, as required, and configuring the network to support recovery objectives to ensure business continuity.
• Schedule and coordinate corrective and routine maintenance on critical network, Disaster Recovery and voice systems with appropriate vendors, customers, and support organizations.
• Perform network risk assessments, implement tech solutions, and assist with internal or external network security audits, Disaster Recovery testing, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 9 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and architecture in a multi-site global environment.
• CCNP/CCDP/CCIE desired, with expert knowledge of Cisco equipment and technology
• Deep understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, QoS, IPSEC, HSRP, MPLS, etc.).
• Deep understanding of firewalls (VPN, ACL’s, NAT, etc.).
• Enterprise project management experience.
• Detail oriented; ability to track multiple projects and deliverables.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with various business users and firm stakeholders.
• Candidate must like fasted paced environment with mix of development/project tasks as well as ongoing system administrator/maintenance responsibilities.
• Vendor management experience: ability to hold vendor and internal stakeholders accountable.
