Description

As a Senior Designer at Stella & Chewy’s, you’ll build inspiring creative output that reinforces the key messages of the Stella & Chewy’s brand and products which is centered around the raw love between pets and pet parents. You will join a team responsible for bringing our brand essence and personality to life for our customers across a number of different touchpoints from our website to email, to packaging, in-store merchandising, but with a specialty in e-commerce and/or social media.

Reporting to our Creative Director and working with a small but mighty (and growing) team you will work very closely with our key cross-functional partners across marketing, product innovation, retail, insights, and ecommerce, to develop a high standard of creative output that supports the business and brand.

About You

You’ve developed inspiring and boundary pushing creative work in multiple different contexts. you will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. You love working with your team, collaborating with other departments and you are also a self-motivated contributor who can tackle tasks alone. You love all aspects of design, from the big sky ideating to the detail-oriented work of text edits and fact checks. You are an expert at creating engaging and inspiring social posts, reels, and videos. And/or you are a specialist at creating captivating A Premium content. And, of course, you love pets!

What you’ll do with us:

• Strengthen and push a high standard for the brand aesthetic across Stella & Chewy’s 360 omni-channel marketing.
• Shepherd our holistic design strategy to maintain a distinctive but cohesive design system across categories and channels
• Find opportunities to strengthen and evolve the brand holistically to resonate with our target audience in a way that feels ownable, and distinct from the competition.
• Work collaboratively with key partners to get to the most inspiring creative output across disciplines and channels
• Educate internal teams and partners around essence and purpose of the brand, set clear guidelines and expectations around creative output, and partner closely to ensure we deliver inspiring output
• See projects throughout the process, from pre-briefing (in partnership with marketing colleagues, playing a key role as creative representatives) through execution—from big (like a national campaigns) to small (like a social share)
• You live and breathe social media and will bring our online presence to the next level
• And/or you will upgrade our Ecomm pages to the best in class on the premium platforms. 

Requirements

• A BA in graphic/communication design and proven track record of creative success 
• 5 years’ experience in graphic design
• A strong portfolio, showcasing brand experience across a range of mediums and with leading or implementing design systems as examples within your portfolio
• Exceptional taste and design aesthetic, variations on styles, and awareness of design trends and innovation
• Excellence in typography, color, layout, and composition
• Strong conceptual storyteller
• Strong ability to collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams (both internal and external)
• Excellent communication skills including ability to explain and detail concepts and ideas clearly at early stages of design
• Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
• Manage brand consistency
• Understanding of how designs will be executed in digital and physical production mediums
• Ability to generate new and original ideas within the parameters of stated objectives
• Desire to continue building skill set with education and training
• Skills in video, editing and animation a huge bonus.
