Susquehanna Printing is part of a long tradition of printing in Lancaster County, beginning when A.J. Steinman purchased the Lancaster daily newspaper in the mid-1860s. Our long-standing expertise in printing continues to this day, as Susquehanna Printing produces the daily LNP newspaper and four local weekly newspapers, plus tabloids, books, and periodicals for businesses throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

Job Summary:

Job with primary responsibility for providing exceptional customer service to new and existing commercial printing clients, coordinating all production requirements between the sales and operational teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain a continual focus on safety and injury prevention for self and co-workers, immediately addressing or bringing to management any unsafe conditions that are identified.
  • Thorough understanding of customer requirements, expectations, and schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of SPCs production capabilities for digital printing, offset printing, finishing, mailing, and logistics.
  • Support Sales Manager to obtain new business based on SPCs operational and logistical capabilities to include but not limited to digital printing, mail services, printing, and finishing/bindery.
  • Obtain detailed and accurate job specs for all new jobs, for completion of capability review, capacity review, and quoting.
  • Complete capability and capacity review with operational leadership (Pre-press, Press, Post-press) for all new prospective jobs.
  • Support Sales Manager to generate costing and quotations for new business.
  • Receive customer orders- job specs, page counts, quantities, delivery requirements, etc- proactively communicate with customers to receive the order details within the agreed timeline.
  • Plan and coordinate Press and Post-press schedules with department leads, to ensure efficient scheduling without conflicting schedules in post-press.
  • Create accurate job jackets for Commercial print jobs and distribute to operations teams.
  • Plan and coordinate mail data requirements with Mail Data Manager and Operations.
  • Plan and coordinate printing and other services provided by 3rd parties.
  • Provide timely and accurate billing documents to Finance on a weekly basis.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or similar, preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of inside sales or customer service experience, preferably in the printing or related industry
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

Climate- controlled office and manufacturing environments, as well as time driving to and from customer visits.
