Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging is Hiring an Advanced NP/ PA Near Las Vegas, NV

 

Under the direction of a Radiologist, is responsible for providing competent medical care in accordance with the professional scope of the practice. As an interventional radiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant, your duties and responsibilities focus on helping the radiology team with explaining the procedure to patients as part of their treatment plan, gathering necessary information from patients, communicating with radiology staff about patients and procedures, perform radiological procedures (within scope of practice), monitoring patient progress, educating patients about after-care and future steps, and writing prescriptions as allowed by scope of practice. Maintains accurate and confidential medical records. May perform other job related duties as necessary for the efficient operation of SDMI.

 MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:

· Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant or advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of Nevada including all government programs with prescribing privileges.

· Radiology experience preferred.

· Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS Certifications.

· Knowledge of basic principles of radiation protection and contrast administration side effects.

· Maintains clinical competency by attending all required in-service and other continuing education programs.

· Requires the ability to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and proficiency in skills.

· Comply with universal precaution standards.

· Requires the ability to work independently and without direct supervision.

· Must be able to hold arterial pressure in the event of an emergency.

· Needs critical thinking skills to assess the patient’s condition and provide any necessary nursing interventions.

· Thorough knowledge and skill in administration, side effects and complications of mild sedation medication. 

· Ability to give clear, concise discharge instructions and information to the patient/visitors. 

· Able to communicate with people of various backgrounds and education levels.

· Prioritization skills to manage daily assignments in order to complete tasks in a timely manner while paying attention to details and accuracy.

· Works professionally with patience, tact and courtesy to handle patients, visitors and co-workers.

· Knowledge and skill in the care/placement of IV catheters, chest ports, chest tubes, drains and urinary catheters.

· Thorough knowledge about infection control protocols.

· Demonstrate evidence of emotional and physical well-being to safely perform any of the duties and responsibilities as set forth in this job description with respect to all age groups.

· Any employee who discovers, is directly involved in or is responding to an event/occurrence/risk is required to complete an occurrence report within 24 hours.

· PA/NPA job performance reviewed by a supervisory personnel. If job performance/ current competencies are not (or continue to not be) at required level this could result in additional training and/or disciplinary action.

· Demonstrate an ability to perform defibrillation or cardioversion as required in an emergency situation.

· Demonstrate an ability to monitor vital signs. 

· Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of anticoagulants appropriately including dose calculations and patient observation for effectiveness.

· Utilizes supplies and equipment effectively.

· Reports all pertinent concise information, accomplishes, timely charting and appropriately report job-related problems to supervisory personnel. Confirmation that all patient paperwork is in order and accounted for.

· Knows and follows SDMI safety and evacuation guidelines, policies/procedures, electrical safety and location of the closest fire alarm and fire extinguishers.

· Computer literate.

· Actively seeks out and accepts feedback from peers. 

· Must abide SDMI attendance policy and follow schedule created by supervisory personnel. 

· Other duties as assigned.

Available Shifts:
Monday- Friday 8am-5:30pm
Monday-Friday 12pm-8:30pm
