Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for performing and assigning daily duties according to production schedules to all department staff.
  2. Will monitor inventory levels and immediately notify department supervisor of any shortages that could slow production.
  3. Trains, audits, and holds team accountable to standard work and training guides, responds quickly to quality problems, and complies with acceptance criteria.
  4. Promotes safety, quality, continuous improvement, and LEAN practices.
  5. Ensures equipment is always in safe operating condition and performs preventative maintenance as scheduled.
  6. Acts as Production Supervisor in their absence.
  7. May assist in hiring process.
  8. Continually mentors and leads fellow employees.
  9. Responsible for performing and ensuring quality inspections are being done in accordance to the Steffes Quality Management System.
  10. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
  11. Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
  12. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2 years of related work experience, preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
  • Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills;
  • Knowledge of ERP and Shop Floor Manager, preferred

  • An acceptable combination of education and experience

Physical Demands of Position

  • This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs
  • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending
  • Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities
  • Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed
  • This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions
