Our Estate Planning and Probate Law Firm is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal to play a vital role on our legal team.

This position will be the primary Estate Planning Paralegal and will provide overflow support for our Probate team members. As the Estate Planning Paralegal, you would be responsible for preparing the appropriate legal documents for Clients based upon data collected by and the plan design created by the Attorney. You would ensure accuracy of the data collected, use the Firm’s document assembly software to produce accurate, high-quality, customized, professional-looking legal documents, conduct the final signing ceremony for clients, assist with trust funding and beneficiary designations, and offer additional services of the firm. The Signing Ceremony makes the final and most lasting impression of the firm’s image, cementing the relationship with the client.

You will also provide critical back up support for our Probate Paralegal, communicating with clients, drafting legal documents, preparing briefs, and keeping case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Clients
  • Verify the accuracy of information for inclusion in legal documents
  • Draft estate planning documents (including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and deeds)
  • Assist in transferring property and assets into trusts (including preparing PT-61 forms, deeds, and other transfer documents and forms)
  • Accurately schedule estate plan phone finals and signing ceremonies
  • Conduct estate plan phone finals (confirming accuracy of all data prior to drafting) and signing ceremonies
  • Organize case files to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Provide back up and overflow support for our Probate practice
  • Keep cases moving toward resolution
  • Communicate with other professionals such as financial advisors, attorneys, CPAs, and the court
  • Make appropriate database and time billing entries on a daily basis
  • Calendar deadlines correctly and take steps necessary to meet the deadlines
  • Actively participate in and contribute to weekly staff meetings
  • Offer additional services of the firm to Clients

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
  • Great time-management and organizational skills
  • Georgia paralegal experience in estate planning (preference given to those who also have probate experience)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • Dedication to accuracy and on-time performance
  • Ability to handle emotional clients while maintaining composure
  • Ability to carefully listen, diplomatically address concerns, and nurture the relationship of being a trusted advisor
  • Excellent independent problem-solving skills
  • Positive, goal-oriented personality
