Position Details:

  • Shift: Weekend Shift; Friday - Sunday 5:00am - 5:00pm
  • Pay Range: Up to $38.00/Hour (depends upon experience, skill set, and shift schedule)
  • Shift Premium: Weekend Shift = 15% of Base Wage $2.00/Hour
  • $2,000 Retention Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret weld symbols and place precise welds; repair weld defects if needed
  • Perform quality welds in correct areas as designated by blueprints / drawings
  • Weld in flat and horizontal positions using gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process on carbon and stainless steel
  • Perform quality checks on parts using a tape measure
  • Change wire spools, contact tips, nozzles, diffusers and perform other basic weld machine maintenance
  • Set up machines and weld according to a welding procedure specifications (WPS)
  • Work from blueprints / drawing to produce finished product in a timely manner
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • May periodically be asked to work in other areas of the shop depending on production demand/flow
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School / GED
Experience and/or Training:

  • 1 year previous manual welding, or combined education and experience
  • Advanced ability to interpret documents such as blueprints, welding symbols, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Basic GD&T knowledge
  • Basic open table fit-up ability
  • Advanced math and measurement skills
  • Basic geometry knowledge (angle, radius, circumference, etc.)
  • Ability to determine a build sequence from the drawings and add bracking for finish weld operations
  • Ability to setup complete weldments using weld fixtures
  • Able to correctly interpret, setup machines and weld according to welding procedure specifications
  • Able to perform weld inspections, identify weld defects and repair welds
  • Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job
  • Must pass GMAW certification tests on aluminum, carbon, and stainless steel
  • Licenses/Certificates:
  • AWS D1.1 and D1.3 weld certifications
  • Additional weld certifications needed as specified by particular job/customer

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and/or Training:

  • GTAW knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Previous inspection experience
  • Prior forklift / crane experience
