Head of School

STEAMspark Montessori Experience is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Principal/Head of School for our newly created K-12 Private Montessori School Initiative for Talented and Gifted Students. This Initiative is designed for exceptionally gifted students who achieve scores at the 80th percentile or higher on a nationally normed reference assessment and demonstrate the capacity to excel in a Montessori setting. The Principal/Head of School will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping the educational direction of the school, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, and ensuring the overall success and well-being of children, staff, and the school community.

Inspiring both students and staff with proven and successful leadership experience, the Head of School drives the educational programming and professional development at STEAMspark Montessori Experience.

Role and Responsibilities

Leadership and Administrative

  • Provide visionary campus and instructional leadership and shape implementation of the Montessori philosophy and curriculum for all multi-age learning environments.
  • Spearhead the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that support the school's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Drive initiatives, including Academic and Extra-Curricular programming, for a peaceful school environment aligned with the school's mission and vision for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Secure professional development and growth opportunities for all staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among faculty and staff.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the school.
  • Manage budgetary and financial aspects of the school, working closely with the finance department.
  • Supervise and support administrative staff, teachers, and other school personnel.
  • Interview and select qualified faculty and staff.

Communications 

  • Increase student admission and retention through solid relationships built with prospective/current parents and community members.
  • Establish and maintain open and effective communication channels with parents, staff, and community leaders.
  • Conduct observations and formal evaluations; recommend supplemental training for faculty and staff as needed.

Collaboration and Community Engagement 

  • Ensure program quality is maintained, and classrooms are equipped with appropriate materials.
  • Coach Montessori Guides and Assistant Guides to build targeted learning plans based on student achievement data.
  • Provide resources, including technology, designed to promote the students' physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to enhance the school's reputation and involvement in educational initiatives.

Campus & Community Relations

  • Prioritize the well-being and development of each student, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety of all students, faculty, and visitors to campus.
  • Oversee safety training and procurement and distribution of PPE materials and thermometers.
  • Adhere to all state licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to address individual student needs and foster a positive school climate.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience as a successful campus administrator
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience within a school setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Texas State Board of Education Principal’s Certification
  • Montessori administrator credential from a MACTE accredited center and/or experience
  • Credentialed as a Montessori Guide or experience with the Montessori philosophy and curriculum

    4. How do you plan to encourage and facilitate effective communication between teachers, parents, and administrators to create a collaborative and supportive school community?

Salary

Total Compensation Package averaging $100,000 including Base Salary, Profit Sharing, Paid Time Off, Holidays, Health Care Contribution, Annual Training, AMS Membership, and Daily Chef-Created Lunches

Physical Requirements

Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
