STEAMPUNK is Hiring an UX Designer Near Washington, DC

Steampunk is looking for an experienced User Experience Manager with an appetite for taking on new challenges to join our team and collaborate closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring a secure and user-friendly digital experience across our organization's information systems. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in user interface design and a deep understanding of human centered design.

Contributions

Responsibilities

As a Steampunk User Experience Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Office of CISO leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and implement a secure and user-centric design strategy. You will lead the design and optimization of user interfaces with a focus on adoptability and usability of the systems we develop; you will employ design techniques that always put the users perspective first in the solution.

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the designer for a variety of projects 
  • Lead creation of clear web and digital experiences for primarily government clients
  • Work closely with both external clients and internal, cross-functional teams on projects that range from a few weeks to a few months in length.
  • Communicate with government stakeholders and decision-makers in compelling ways using a variety of visual mediums.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design or related field.
  • Proven experience as a User Experience Designer or similar role with a focus on security.
  • Up to nine years of experience delivering interface design solutions for various clients, including highly detailed annotated wireframes and user flows within complex web or mobile applications
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful UX/UI design projects
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Rapid prototyping tools like Axure
  • Strong client communication skills
  • Experience developing rapid prototypes and producing wireframes for user interfaces
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

 Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working on a cross functional Salesforce implementation team
