Overview

The Associate Scrum Master facilitates scrum ceremonies for the delivery team and drives delivery through rigor in agile practices. The Associate Scrum Master also facilitates and supports efforts to define and communicate the product vision, creates, and prioritizes the product backlog with the Product Owner, and owns responsibility for all business aspects of the project including satisfying contractual requirements and achieving budgetary targets. The Associate Scrum Master ensures team members understand the big picture including product vision, project objectives, and release timeline. To achieve these objectives, the Associate Scrum Master liaises with the Product Owner and Stakeholders to ensure value is being delivered in the release as consistent with their priorities while integrating technical and architectural input from the team.

We are looking for a forward leaning and community building Associate Scrum Master with a passion for agile software development.

• A Scrum Master must have experience managing Agile/Information Technology related projects and must be well versed in software development life cycle and project management methodologies

• Scrum Master will oversee scrum team for key high-priority project for the client.

• Must be able to identify and mitigate risks. We are looking for a Scrum Master with excellent communication skills who can work with key stakeholders/customers to support planning and delivery of technical IT development Agile projects.

• Scrum Master will define help project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.

• Scrum Master will assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members.

• Scrum Master will support managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and help to implement an effective system of project governance.

  Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).

• Primary focus is making sure the teams are effective and focused on their work
• Coaches the teams in their understanding of the delivery process, the agile mindset, and client values
• Helps the team use their time wisely and avoid distractions
• Serves business engagement by making sure team issues are escalated, worked, and resolved

Qualifications

Required:

• 0-2 years of experience. 
• Just starting out in their career. 
• Bachelor’s degree. 
• Eligible to obtain and maintain and government security clearance. 
• Experience using one or more ALM (Agile Lifecycle Management) tools at the team / project level; Jira preferred. 
• Experience with, and understanding of, Agile principles and practices especially Scrum 
• Some experience facilitating Scrum team level events (ceremonies). 
• An ability to understand and document business requirements as roadmap, Epics and User Stories. 
• Business writing sufficient to contribute to writing of team level status reporting. 
• A servant-leader orientation to team support and development. 
• Ability to build strong customer relationships. 
• U.S. Citizen

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accreditted University preferably within the IT field.

 Preferred:

• Preferred PMP, CSM, and/or SAFe certification
• Preferred experience in serving as a Scrum Master.
• Preferred Federal Civilian Client Experience
