Position SummaryTeacher Aides support Early Childhood Teachers with the education, supervision, and care of children at the Steamboat Child Care Center. Teacher Aides ensure that legal teacher: child ratios are maintained. This position requires a willingness to learn and flexibility to work with children of all ages 0-5 years. Teacher Aides must complete all state mandated and legal requirements and attend staff meetings. Essential Duties
Must demonstrate an interest in young children and a concern for their proper care and well-being.
Flexibility to care for children of all ages birth-5 years
Must be reliable and punctual
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under stressful situations
Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, co-teachers, and assistants
Ability to work cooperatively
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, colleagues, and parents
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, talking, and sitting on the floor
Routine sanitizing and disinfesting of toys and surfaces
Must adhere to all health and safety policies, legal requirements, and program policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
No previous experience required; willing to train the right person
This position requires a willingness to learn and flexibility to work with children of all ages 0-5 years
Must be reliable and punctual
Must register in the PDIS and complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of continuing education each year

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits. Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $18.50 - $20 per hour Physical Requirements
Must be at least 16 years of age and work directly under the supervision of the Director or an Early Childhood Teacher
Infant Staff Aides must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to lift, carry, and position children up to 40 pounds
Must be able to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, talking, and sitting on the floor
Must successfully complete background checks
Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written
