Job Description:

STEAMAWAY is currently seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and communicative Accounting Assistant for ACCOUNTS PAYABLE to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that invoices and payments are properly processed, maintaining vendor relationships, and controlling expenses for an accurate balance sheet.

Responsibilities:

-Receive, review, and reconcile invoices, addressing any discrepancies and routing invoices to department managers for approvals.
-Record all approved invoices for payment, clear aged invoices in the system, and ensure timely and accurate completion of check run cycles.
-Manage distribution and filing of checks and check registers, and maintain tax information for vendors.
-Review vendor statements, respond to inquiries, and assist in maintaining positive vendor relationships.
-Process expense reimbursements for employees and audit/process credit card bills.
-Provide support for month-end and year-end closing processes.
-Perform routine department activities such as invoice and payment processing.
-File, maintain, and distribute documents, records, reports, and other administrative support duties as assigned.

Requirements:

-Superb attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
-2 years of recent previous experience in Accounts Payable.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office EXCEL and QuickBooks REQUIRED.
-Basic understanding of finance, bookkeeping, and accounting principles.
-Effective verbal communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management.
-High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
