KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Wellness and Support, the successful candidate will:
Provide triage and services for non-clinical care coordination. Coordinate follow-up and tracking of all cases including those referred from Students of Concern Team;
Co-chair the Students of Concern Team. Serve as a resource for managing/triaging student issues and coordination with other university departments;
Act and advocate for the student as they negotiate the academic, student life and health care landscape by working with relevant on campus and off campus providers;
Establish plans of care and support utilizing appropriate on campus and community services/providers;
Coordinate services to students as needed; Coordinate follow-up and tracking of students in distress; manage appropriate record keeping process for students;
Develop and implement preventive, educational, and outreach programming;
Provide consultation and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) risk and Violence Prevention services for students; coordinate emergency response and support services plan to assist victims of violence;
Serve as a point of contact for survivors of violent crimes seeking confidential support, crisis response, advocacy services, referrals, and/or information;
Assess high-risk situations, to include evaluations of an individual's physical and emotional state and assist individuals in crisis;
Provide consultation to the campus community, including staff, faculty, parents, and students;
Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession;
Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution;at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified;
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis;
Experience in or knowledge of student development;
Demonstrated cultural competence and inclusiveness in working with populations of diverse cultures and identities in addressing issues of diversity, health, and social justice;
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion:
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission;
Experience with instructional technology;
Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work or a related field;
Previous work experience in Student Affairs functional areas;
Prior work experience in higher education case management;
Demonstrated knowledge of conflict mediation and crisis de-escalation;
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
Proven excellence in time management;
Ability to think critically and solve problems, as well as handle a large caseload of students;
Knowledge, experience, and/or training in emergency preparedness;
Willingness to work collaboratively;
Ability to work at a fast pace and handle spontaneous work demands:
Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, 10-month term appointed UUP represented position, expected to begin August 2023.
Position salary range is $42,064 - $45,000 (based on level of experience).
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
