The successful candidate will overlap with the incumbent through June 30, 2024 and take over the position on July 1, 2024. WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment. Position may be eligible for hybrid working; Associate Directors are required to spend at least two days per week in the Olympia office. There will be more in-office work during the initial on-boarding period.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervises the managers and supervisors who support the Washington State Center for Court Research, Supreme Court Commissions; Family and Youth Justice Programs, the Behavioral Health Program, and the staff of the Equity and Access team. This includes hiring activities, performance management, identifying training needs, guiding, mentoring and motivating staff, and connecting the role of managers and professional staff functions to the agency mission.Plans and manages workload for the OCI. Determines and communicates job requirements, performance expectations and standards. Assigns work and ensures that standards and deadlines are understood. Regularly evaluates work to ensure alignment with standards and expectations.Coordinates the activities of the OCI, including, but not limited to: developing new program areas from concept to implementation; coordinating research for courts and court programs; supporting implementation of innovations in courts; and supporting and delivering training to judicial officers, court personnel, and justice partners, all in accordance with direction established by the AOC or judicial branch leadership.Prepares written reports and gives oral presentations to large groups, both internal and external.Identifies opportunities for grant and contract funding of projects and programs aligned with priorities of the AOC and the judicial branch. Authors, coordinates and manages grants and contracts.Analyzes and evaluates proposed legislation and its probable impact on project and program goals within assigned areas of responsibility.Provides recommendations and strategies to AOC and judicial leadership regarding court innovations with the judicial branch.Performs other work as assigned.
