This is a full-time, Epidemiologist 3 (EPI3) position.
Health Systems Quality Assurance
Office of the Assistant Secretary
Location: Tumwater, WA (flexible/hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an Epidemiologist (EPI3), specializing in developing performance metrics and data analysis. Reporting to the Credentialing Improvement Project Director, the successful candidate will utilize health care licensing data to improve the licensing and credentialing processes for health professionals and facilities in the state. In this pivotal role, you will propose and conduct epidemiological investigations, design and develop performance data metrics, and work closely with a team of epidemiologists within the HSQA Office of the Assistant Secretary (OAS).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
:
  • Proposing, designing, and leading the development of metrics reports and dashboards for use by programs to track performance of credentialing, inspection, discipline, enforcement, and other licensing activities.
  • Proposing, designing, and conducting epidemiologic studies, evaluation, and analysis of the health care workforce using health profession licensing data and other resources.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

Note: Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities.Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.

  • Option 1: A master’s degree or higher in epidemiology.

  • Option 2:
    A master’s degree or higher in public health, WHICH INCLUDES 12 or more graduate quarter hours (500 level or above) in epidemiology AND 12 or more graduate quarter hours in biostatistics.

AND
(for BOTH of the above options) the following:
  • Two (2) or more years of experience supervising or leading the work of others.
  • Experience collecting, managing, analyzing, and improving the quality of public health, health care, or administrative data.
  • Experience using biostatistical methods and applications for the manipulation and statistical analysis of data (e.g., SAS, R, or SQL).
  • Experience applying quality improvement principles and methods to improve processes.

Desired Skills & Preferred Experience
  • Six (6) or more years of experience supervising or leading the work of others.

Work Location & Flexibility
The duty station for this position is in Tumwater, WA. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. When approved, the employee is expected to report to the duty station for work activities. Partial telecommuting may be an option subject to supervisory approval. We anticipate the incumbent will work at the Tumwater office up to three (3) days monthly.

Conditions of Employment/Working Conditions
