The Department of Health is dedicated to fostering collaboration across the health ecosystem to safeguard and enhance equity and optimal health outcomes for all residents of Washington State. Situated within the Center for Facilities, Risk, and Adjudication, the Office of Enterprise Risk Management (OERM) plays a pivotal role in identifying and mitigating events or circumstances that could impede the agency's pursuit of its strategic objectives. Within OERM, the Information Governance unit is entrusted with supporting the Public Records Office in fulfilling E-Search requests for data.
Reporting to the Chief Information Governance Officer, the E -E-Search specialist assumes a senior-level position, overseeing projects critical to the agency's operations. Specifically, the incumbent is tasked with spearheading tracking, information management, and analytical endeavors aimed at evaluating and optimizing DOH information systems. A key aspect of this role involves ensuring the accessibility and searchability of agency information content through the utilization of available technological resources.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Independently coordinate complex, senior-level digital content management and e-discovery, methodology, and timetables for analysis and task completion.
  • Assist in developing strategies to coordinate agency process improvements based on agency information governance goals and objectives.

The duty station for this full-time permanent Data Consultant 3 (DC3) is in Tumwater WA.
Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. Required in-office work is rare and would be scheduled in advance.

Required Qualifications

Three or more years of experience in all of the following:

  • Analyzing data and information Examine data to draw conclusions and assess results to recommend solutions to practical problems.
  • Researching information identifying, collecting, and organizing data for analysis and decision-making.
  • Problem-solving Providing technical support to differing levels of understanding to resolve issues with use and application.
  • Writing desk manuals, reports, or documents for management review that convey ideas and facts in writing for varied levels of understanding.
  • Applying computer skills as follows:
    • Word processing software, such as Microsoft Word to create and format documents including bulleted lists, tabs, tables, and header/footers. Create forms using templates, create form fields and format forms. Create hyperlinks and tables of contents.
    • Microsoft Excel to develop spreadsheets with macros, functions and formulas, advanced filters, and links to external sources of information; Create pivot tables and charts in graphs; Create interactive analysis tools; And use data analysis tools.
    • Navigating databases and working with detailed data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge and experience using PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience using SharePoint
  • Experience with local, state, or federal public records or information governance protocols.
  • Customer service experience that includes resolving problems and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and services.
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Microsoft Purview within O365 Suite solutions.

Conditions of Employment/Working Conditions
