Speech-Language Pathologist
Are you a licensed Speech Language Pathologist? Do you want to play a key role in various developmental domains of children from infancy through age 3, particularly related to communication, speech, auditory, and sensory development? The Department of Health and Human Services' Baby Watch Early Intervention program is looking for the right candidate to fill their open role of Speech-Language Pathologist.PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE APPLYING:
  • In accordance with Utah Code 58-41-3, as seen HERE, you must be licensed in speech-language pathology to qualify for this position. 
  • This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
  • Travel throughout Weber and Morgan Counties will be required. A valid Driver License is required. 
  • A state-owned vehicle will be provided. If a state-owned vehicle is not available, incumbents will be provided mileage reimbursement in lieu of the state-owned vehicle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be licensed in speech-language pathology to qualify for this position. Please click HERE to review the requirements for licensure in the state of Utah.
  • Must have a valid Driver License.
  • One or more years of professional experience working with children and families
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Is licensed in speech-language pathology
  • Has an Early Intervention Specialist credential
  • Has previous Part C early intervention experience
  • Has knowledge of a family centered service delivery model
  • Has the ability to write and create professional trainings and presentations
  • Has knowledge of early childhood development, specific to infancy through age 3
  • Has experience working with a multidisciplinary team

Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):

  • Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.

  • Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.

    • Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))

    • Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.

  • Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.

Paid Time Off:

  • Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).

  • Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.

  • We have 12 paid holidays.

  • This is a time limited position that may become permanent.
  • This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
  • Licensure in Utah as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
