SC Department of Commerce is seeking a Visual Media Designer that would be responsible for developing and deploying a visual media strategy to support the agency’s marketing and communications functions through the utilization of graphic design, animated graphics, story-telling based videography and still photography.

• Works with Director and Deputy Directors of Marketing and Communications to develop and deploy an annual visual media strategy to support the agency’s marketing and communications functions and adjusts as needed based on new agency efforts and available metrics.
• Collaborates to produce graphics and animations for use in agency marketing and communications collateral (i.e., social media, newsletters, videos, presentations and sales materials).
• Plans, coordinates, shoots, and edits videos photographs for use in agency marketing and communications efforts.
• Establishes and maintains library of all visual media assets.
• Maintains all video and photography equipment and ensures their operational status.
• Captures visual media assets at agency-related events for same-day and follow-up use.
• Provides cross-functional support for the marketing and communications division as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Must maintain a fluency in current trends and concepts for photography, videography, print and electronic/graphic design. Must be detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines and adjusting to last-minute changes to deadlines. Must be assertive and proactive when engaging stakeholders for requesting and receiving information in a timely manner to meet assigned deadlines.
Must be able to carry equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
