State of South Carolina is Hiring a TCSC Counselor II Part-time (Therapist) 151790 Near Charleston, SC

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This Positions are located at 3685 Rivers Ave., Suite 302, North Charleston, SC 29405
This position is assigned to the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center (CDMHC) Tri-County Crisis Stabilization (TCSC) unit, which is a 10 bed, voluntary, short-term facility for adults, with the primary focus of stabilizing psychiatric symptoms. The target population is people who are experiencing symptoms significant enough that they need more than outpatient services can provide, but not quite to the level of inpatient treatment. We focus on what led to their current crisis, how to stabilize their symptoms, and how to set up skills and support systems to prevent this sort of crisis in the future. TCSC provides a clinically and legally appropriate diversion from unnecessary Emergency Department visits, hospital admissions and incarceration. The facility also can serve as a step-down from inpatient care or the legal system to shorten stays and ensure a smooth transition.
Our clinicians work as a team to support the overall operation of the facility, including the provision of advanced, comprehensive mental health assessments and clinical interventions to promote individualized patient recovery. Clinical interventions are intensive and include individual and group therapy using a full array of Evidence-Based Practices tailored to the individual's needs and preferences, as well as discharge planning to link them with the appropriate outpatient treatment and resources when they are discharged. TCSC also provides psychiatric and nursing services, so clinicians will act as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure all mental health needs are met. We seek compassionate individuals who are driven to provide outstanding care to those we serve.

CDMHC and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health have an unsurpassed commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Clinical staff receive thorough training at orientation as well as opportunities for ongoing training and support, including CEUs whenever possible. Regular individual and team supervision is also provided.

In addition to our exceptional benefits package detailed below, employees in good standing can access opportunities to receive clinical supervision toward all levels of licensure in Counseling and Social Work at no charge.
