Serves as the Conservation Section Manager for the SCARNG Environmental Program. Plan, direct, and provide supervisory oversight of the Training Site Environmental Program and provide technical advice as a qualified expert in the fields of natural resource management, pest management, GIS program, Environmental Awareness, outreach, data management, and technology. Supervise the development, update and reviews, and implementation of plans, i.e. Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans, Integrated Pest Management Plan, and Integrated Soil Management Plan, IAW applicable federal state, and local regulations. Provide general program management and supervision to include personnel issues, permitting requirements, and day-to-day office functions. Provide supervision and direction to subordinate personnel and ensure required tasks and projects are completed. Serves as the primary liaison with other agencies (NGB, NRCS, and FJSC) on natural resources issues. Oversee the development, planning, implementation, and tracking of the Conservation Branch’s budget through the STEP program and through state-specific applications. Provide oversight of the SCARNG ACUB and JLUS Programs.A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.At least three (3) years of management and/or supervisory experience.Ability to perform physical tasks of moderate difficulty in varying climatic conditions and during irregular hours. Overnight travel may be required to perform inspections/surveys and during attendance at conferences, workshops, off-site meetings and training. Ability to effectively communicate with executive and subordinate levels, the public and government officials at all levels. Ability to plan and supervise the efforts of professional and support staff. Ability to make professional decisions regarding the relationship between SCARNG and federal, state, and local agencies in terms of conservation practices. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal skills. Employee must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
