OHFA offers affordable housing opportunities for Ohioans from rental assistance to homeownership. OHFA provides access to financial resources for the development & management of affordable housing. The Agency's programs serve first-time homebuyers, renters, senior citizens & other populations with special needs who otherwise might not be able to afford quality housing. The Office of Multifamily Housing, Development Division administers the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program along with other federal & state resources to support the development of affordable rental housing throughout the state.

What You'll Do:

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) is looking for dedicated individuals to fill two (2) Construction Project Specialist 2 positions who will...

  • Complete site visits to projects under construction & document & report out findings
  • Provide assistance with architectural reviews completed by OHFA
  • Work closely with team members on construction progress, scope of work & review of field reports
  • Provide technical assistance on construction to all sections of the Office of Multifamily Housing
  • Manage relationships with internal & external affordable rental housing stakeholders

HYBRID Work - This position is eligible to participate in OHFA's teleworking policy. Currently, employees must report to the office two (2) days a week & may work from an alternative work location three (3) days per week. OHFA's offices are located at 2600 Corporate Exchange Drive, Columbus, OH 43231.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires travel throughout Ohio; AND works outside exposed to weather.

Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate on their application how they meet the minimum qualifications to receive further consideration (e.g., interview). Those qualifications are:

  • 12 months experience as Construction Project Specialist 1, 85831 or Construction Project Specialist 1 (Exempt), 85832 or in comparable position involving construction project inspection; AND
  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in one of following: shop math, geometry, trigonometry or calculus AND
  • 1 course or 3 months training or 3 months experience in reading blueprints &/or specifications; or demonstrate proficiency; AND
  • must be able to provide own transportation.
