Office of Family Assistance

This position is located in the Office of Family Assistance (OFA). OFA oversees cash and food assistance programs, work support programs for recipients of cash and food assistance, and refugee programs. Learn more about the office by visiting the Office of Family Assistance webpage.

What You’ll Do

In this position, you will manage grant agreements for the Refugee Services program. You will work closely with the Section Chief and Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services (OFMS) to manage the budget for the Refugee Services Program.

You will:

  • Manage grant agreements
  • Oversee program budget
  • Review expenditures, track spending patterns
  • Review Federal financial reports
  • Serve as a liaison to the Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services (OFMS)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Travel: Travel required, as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

OPTION 1:

  • 54 mos. exp. or 54 mos. trg. in financial administration.
  • OR OPTION 2:
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance, or related field and 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in financial administration.
  • OR OPTION 3:
  • Completion of graduate core program in public or business administration, accounting, finance, or related field and18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in financial administration.
  • OR OPTION 4:
  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. or required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Technical & Professional Skills Utilized: managing grant agreements or contracts; program budget management; Federal/State policy; analytical and problem-solving skills; thoroughness, detail-oriented, and well organized; strong communication skills with diverse groups of people; ability to handle competing priorities.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 14. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $35.74 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
