What You’ll Do:

  • As a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, responsible for sex offender interventions for a caseload of assigned incarcerated individuals.
  • Completes initial program screenings and risk assessments.
  • Conducts individual and group clinical interventions using clinical intervention strategies within their scope of practice and directed by supervision.
  • Provides psychosocial group interventions.
  • Completes initial and discharge summaries.
  • Consults with other institution staff regarding the sex offender caseload, incarcerated individuals’ institutional adjustment and service needs; complies monthly report statistics.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with the Adult Parole Authority, Halfway Houses, and other community agencies regarding an incarcerated individual’s progress in/completion of group.
  • Make appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Writes reports and/or documentation to include electronic documentation of all individual and group contacts, initial and discharge summaries and miscellaneous forms and reports as needed, per policy and protocol.
  • Attends meetings of social work or counselor supervision.
  • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
  • When appropriate may be assigned to teach in-service.
  • Must conduct themselves professionally, and in a law-abiding manner at all times and in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Standards of Employee Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay ranges from approximately $52,000 to $70,300. Starting pay will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and location.

DRC is a “qualifying employer” for purposes of the federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program.

Qualifications
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
  • Or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
  • Or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
  • Or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
  • Or Licensed Registered Nurse with practice specialty certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Or Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of Masters degree in Psychology or other mental health related field.
  • Or Licensed Registered Nurse by Ohio Board of Nursing plus completion of Masters degree in Nursing with a Mental Health of Psychiatric Nursing concentrate. Note: the official position description on file with the designated agency is to reflect, in the minimum acceptable characteristics, the required license(s) related to the scope of practice & services provided as described in the job duties. The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use.
