This posting is for multiple vacancies: 65035054 & 65013141. The Positions are for a Physician location Central Prison Healthcare Complex in Raleigh, which houses approximately 1318 close custody male offender. This position is in the Long-Term Care Unit.
This is a Primary Care Physician that provides both inpatient and outpatient services, urgent, acute, infirmary and chronic levels of healthcare. Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Some preventive medicine
- Rehabilitative & geriatric healthcare and some emergent care
- Working closely with nursing staff to provide all aspects of medical care
Independent judgement in planning& maintaining total medical care for a patient using a broad scope of duties which will consist of monitoring and/or treating patients with seizure disorders, drug reactions and/or other allergic conditions, acute asthma attacks, monitoring and/or treating Type I or Type II Diabetes and treating patients with chronic diseases.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is MH26. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability and internal equity. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess
ALL of the following:
- Experience in the practices of general and preventative medicine to include treating and diagnosing a variety of diseases and injuries in family or internal medicine.
- Experience assessing and interpreting laboratory results, clinical data, and information relative to the patient’s condition.
- Experience documenting patient health information in the medical record.
Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
