OFFERING SIGN ON BONUS OF $10,000 POSITIONS (60061634 AND 60063529) ARE LOCATED IN THE EASTERN REGION. THE PRIMARY FACILTIES THIS POSITION IS ASSIGNED TO ARE: Bertie, Craven, Hyde, Pasquotank, Roanoke River and Tyrrell Prison Work Farm.The Float Nurse provides professional nursing in the care, treatment, observation and counsel of offenders in accordance with standard nursing practice and theory, agency regulations, physicians’ orders and instructions from higher level nursing staff. Position duties include clinical responsibilities which covers the whole spectrum of assessment and intervention necessary to maintain maximum function and to promote well-being and are inclusive of, but not limited to, sick call/assessment, assisting the physician, carrying out orders, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care, responding to emergencies, facilitating mental and dental health care, preparing medication for administration and administering medications, monitoring for communicable diseases, conducting Chronic Disease Clinics, updating physical examinations, teaching, delegating to or supervising other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen. Position may supervise subordinate staff. This is a floating position and will provide staffing coverage based on the need throughout facilities. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits About the NC Dept. of Adult Correction (DAC): The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.
