Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Social Services Program Specialist II position in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the Office of Community Living (OCL).
Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.
The incumbent will manage the Nevada Interpreter/Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) Registry with Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD), Communication Access Services (CAS) Program, including interpretation of regulations and laws; conducting education and outreach activities; and preparation of reports for federal and State entities and division/department management. The Nevada Interpreter/CART Registry is a list of sign language interpreters and CART providers who meet the minimum qualifications in the State of Nevada as required by Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 656A. This position will be responsible to operate the registry database and provide information on the current regulations for Sign Language Interpreters and Realtime Captioning Providers.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs services or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR one year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
