Here’s a rare VR Office Director opportunity to lead a high-performing team with lots of referrals and outcomes in the North Platte area. Office Location & Schedule: This position is assigned to our office located in North Platte, NE, with potential for some telework after an onboarding and training period, contingent upon proper agency approvals. Pay Rate: $80,924.76/year This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate. The “Classification Salary Range” above is not a listing of available funds. Identifies potential new programs and services, resolves program issues, and assesses client satisfaction levels and ongoing quality assurance measures. Facilitates communication and builds a strong relationship between Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) staff, contractors, and key stakeholders including schools, state agencies, and other business and industry partners. Collaborates with and advises Vocational Rehabilitation leadership on significant issues, program developments, and operations of program. Maintains an understanding of the programs, services, and operational functions and appropriately implements policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provides leadership in the hiring, supervision, and potential discipline of staff. Conducts performance management activities including establishing annual goals related to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) state plan and NDE strategic plan, holding check-in meetings to discuss goal progress, and completing performance appraisals. Facilitates a continuous learning environment by promoting professional development to ensure all employees have the opportunity and skills to be efficient and effective in meeting the goals of the agency. Delegates work and projects appropriately among staff. Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Working Conditions and Travel: This position requires approximately 85% of work time spent in an office environment (e.g., state offices, home offices); the remainder is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as conferences, meetings, or provider offices. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per year. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Vocational Rehabilitation Administration, Counseling, Evaluation, Public Administration, Management), experience working with people with significant disabilities, and previous successful leadership experience in a state Vocational Rehabilitation agency or human services agency.
