Job Description:

This position will perform, but will not be limited to, the following job duties:
  • Generate service authorizations by reviewing service referrals.
  • review and compare supporting documentation with billing documents to ensure accuracy and conformance.
  • conduct research into billing discrepancies and serve as liaison between workers and providers to resolve billing issues.
  • communicate effectively with service providers and internal staff to be able to obtain additional information as needed.
  • explain errors in documentation, train providers on billing processes and procedures, and answer questions and or assist with problems.
  • conduct research on over and underpayments including the amount and reasoning behind the error and reconcile payments issued.
  • Process LOE claims (Medical, Dental, Orthodontic, Visual, Pharmacy) for payments.
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR experience performing accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.
Prefer: Someone who is detailed. Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance field. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
knowledge of: the principles and practices of double entry accounting concepts and procedures; clerical accounting methods, forms and techniques; the methods of filing and maintaining accounting records; mathematical functions related to accounting processes; word processing and spreadsheet computer software program. Skill in: Gathering and compiling data into spreadsheets or data bases.
