State of Missouri is Hiring a Regulatory Auditor (Admissions Specialist) Near Jefferson City, MO

Salary Range: $42,000 - $45,000

Job Location: This position will be located at 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?

This position serves Missourians by reviewing and ensuring documentation for admissions filed by companies wanting to conduct insurance or insurance-related business in Missouri is complete, prepares Certificates of Authority to conduct business in Missouri, facilitates insurance filings with the Secretary of State’s Office, has primary responsibility to track and make changes in a specialized licensing database related to the demographics and license status of all authorized entities, and cross trains with other division support staff to ensure consistent work flow in the division.

What will you do in this position?

  • Analyze admissions applications for completeness to ensure all required forms and filings are provided for foreign and domestic insurers or insurance-related businesses to conduct business in Missouri, expand into new lines of authority, or provide third-party administration services.
  • Assist insurance company officials and legal firms regarding requirements for insurance admission and compliance with Missouri statutes and regulations; communicate the results of admission reviews and correspond with companies to acquire all forms and filings necessary to review the application for admission and licensure.
  • Prepares Certificates of Authority for the Director’s signature for all types of insurers, reinsurers and administrators.
  • Invoices companies for filings, certificates and annual renewal fees.
  • Facilitates filings for changes to company Articles of Incorporation or Bylaws and ensures filing of the Amended Articles with the Secretary of State’s office.
  • Completes and uploads changes to addresses, phone numbers, licensing authority and contact information to the licensing database.
  • Downloads applications and updates a national database regarding the status of applications filed with the Department.
  • Provides back up and assistance to other support staff within the division.

What are the qualifications for the position?

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 0-1 year of relevant experience. Substitutions may be allowed.
  • Proficient with common computer applications. Familiarity and prior use of databases preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
