Office of Administration/Division of Personnel has transformed its approach to end-to-end talent management to better serve the citizens of Missouri. To help move this effort forward, we are looking for a professional to help deliver a recruiting program for the State of Missouri.

We’re looking to fill the role of Talent Acquisition/Recruiting Specialist within the Office of Administration Talent Acquisition team. The focus of this position will support full cycle recruitment, focusing on technical support and high school partnerships. The state of Missouri is a great place to build a career in public service and highlighting that during student career exploration is key! The right candidate will be able to successfully work with a variety of people; from students and educators to hiring managers and general MO Careers clients. The selected individual will also be responsible to help support the general help desk and support for our MO Careers online application platform and onboarding framework. The position is fast-paced with a lot of details to manage all at once. The right person will thrive in a newly developed environment as we continue to build our modern recruitment approach for not only OA but the entire State of Missouri. What you’ll do:

  • Build a recruitment plan that will work with Missouri’s secondary school systems to foster career interest in public service, and to find new talent for the State of Missouri government operations.
  • Be an integral part of building a best-in-class statewide recruitment and candidate experience.
  • Build relationships with guidance counselors, educators, and other high school administrators. This position will also travel to attend high school career events, talking to groups of students and parents to highlight career options in government for the state.
  • In support of statewide recruitment efforts, this position will also work with agency customers and share best practices to help other areas grow and learn as well.
  • Explore opportunities for and support apprenticeship programs for especially hard-to-fill career paths.
  • Support MO Careers Help Desk, assisting customers from various agencies to understand the product functionality.
  • Directing customers to available resources such as online help, FAQs, and customer training materials.
  • Providing thorough documentation of application errors and customer issues including what process they were using when they encountered the error, researching possible causes, and reviewing likely contributors.
  • Route customer requests and suspected defects to the appropriate internal and vendor teams, with well-documented notes on troubleshooting completed.
  • Participating in continuous learning, product rollout sessions, and other internal training opportunities to keep current on the evolving products.
  • Provide excellent customer service through phone and email conversations and ticket documentation.
  • Foster an environment of inquisitiveness, transparency, effective communication, trust, and teamwork.
  • Assist with special projects as directed by executive leadership.

All you’ll need for success:

Preferred Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Creative self-starter who can foster effective relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external customers. Must be a servant-leader that finds pride in public service.
  • Resourceful in finding the best use of budget dollars, time, and teams to help accomplish goals.
  • Very strong organizational skills to manage calendars, event details, follow-up with hiring managers, new employees, etc.
  • Interest in data gathering, analysis, and presentation to help find efficiencies and support streamlining processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, from one-on-one to working with large, diverse groups.
  • Ability to market ideas and initiatives in ways that build interest and encourage buy-in and participation among employees at all levels.
  • Skilled with MS Office and social media platforms and the ability to quickly navigate software.
  • Previous experience in state government human resources with MO Careers is a big plus!

Minimum qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or a similar field, or three to five years of professional experience in talent acquisition or human resources. Additional education and/or experience may substitute for these qualifications.
