HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

Legal Counsel Attorneys experience an exciting job opportunity working in the Transportation Section of the General Counsel’s Office. Attorneys will represent the Department in civil driver license and motor vehicle law at circuit court bench trials. This position affords the opportunity for advancement and professional career development, with substantial training and mentoring provided. Flexible Schedule is available after attorney is trained and able to perform daily duties.

DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

  • Provide general legal advice to Department personnel
  • Legal research and writing
  • In-state travel required

CORE COMPETENCIES NEEDED:

Strategic Thinking Computer Literacy Effective Writing

Self-directed Attention to Detail Clear Communication

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Missouri Bar license in good standing
  • Ability to exercise critical reasoning skills
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with coworkers, attorneys, and the courts
  • Ability to work independently

  • Self-motivated, independent and reliable professional
  • Relevant experience is valued, but not required
