Injury Processing Manager

Annual Salary Range: $62,000 - $74,000

What you will do:

  • Assist the state project management team with tasks relating to the modernization of the Injury Processing Unit operating procedures.
  • Analyze problems independently, research and recommend solution alternatives, and execute steps to address business process gaps and data issues.
  • Manage two supervisors and 10-14 team members working remotely and in-office, including hiring, coaching, evaluation, and training.
  • This position will report to the Division Director and will meet regularly regarding day to day operations of the program.
  • Utilize your workers’ compensation experience and claims adjusting skills to communicate with the stakeholders to achieve improvements with the case management functions and business operations.

All you need for success:

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including 4 years of supervisory experience. (A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for 4 years of relevant experience.)

Desired Attributes:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Understanding of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and IAIABC Release 3.0 or 3.1 requirements that apply to reporting of injuries under the workers’ compensation law.
  • Knowledge and experience with case and/or claims management processes and technology; knowledge of workers’ compensation law and/or insurance law.
  • Understanding of document management software and file-sharing applications like Box.com.
  • Experience supervising multiple staff with processing and handling claims.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Organizational Change Management.
  • Ability to change priorities to meet multiple deadlines while being responsive to customer needs.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and conduct duties with courtesy and respect.
