State of Missouri is Hiring a Fiscal Manager Near Jefferson, MO

Missouri Division of Finance

Fiscal Manager

The Division of Finance is responsible for the chartering, licensing, and oversight of financial institutions in the State of Missouri. This position provides accounting and budgetary support to the Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor fund balances and assist with projecting future needs.
  • Enter various financial transactions in SAM II Financial for approval.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fund and budget reports for division management.
  • Assist with annual bank, trust, and savings and loan assessments.
  • Prepare fiscal notes for legislation that affects the Division.
  • Prepare the Division’s budget book.
  • Work closely with division and department team members during the budget process.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of governmental accounting and budget processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAM II Financial, SAM II Data Warehouse, Document Direct, BRASS, MOVERS, and MissouriBUYS.
  • Knowledge of the legislative and fiscal note processes.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze complex budgetary reports.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with division employees, department and industry counterparts, and the public.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and at least two years of relevant professional experience in accounting and/or budget support.

Additional years of professional experience in budget, finance, or accounting may substitute for the required education.
