**Successful candidate will serve as a community liaison for the district and will develop, coordinate and implement strategies to increase communication and build or strengthen relationships between the department and community organizations. Such community outreach will include minority and female organizations, contractor organizations and political representatives. Additionally, the successful candidate will act as an advocate for our department efforts in equal opportunity and affirmative action which may include training and workshops, outreach to underutilized areas in the community and work initiatives,
The communications manager coordinates district or statewide communications and media programs. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.
