The Office of Charitable Gaming (OCG) monitors and regulates the charitable gaming industry in the State of Louisiana. Charitable Gaming is defined as non-profit organizations raising funds through games of chance where all net proceeds are contributed to bona fide charitable causes.
There are two divisions within OCG: Licensing and Auditing.
Licensing - Seven different types of licenses are issued through OCG for Organizations, Commercial Lessors, Distributors and Manufacturers.
Auditing - Another responsibility of the Office is to ensure that all net proceeds of these games are devoted to educational, charitable, patriotic, religious, or public spirited uses. OCG monitors this by conducting detailed audits of organizations, performing surprise inspections of games, and offering comprehensive training sessions.
ABOUT THIS POSITION:The incumbent in this position performs in-depth compliance and financial audits on charitable gaming organizations, manufactures, distributors and commercial lessors to ensure compliance with Louisiana Charitable laws, rules and regulations.
Audits consist of reviewing and examining previously submitted quarterly and monthly reports, price structure, approvals, inventory, model accounting system forms, applications, consent agreements, and correspondence by an organization, manufacturer, distributor, or commercial lessor prior to audit to learn their structure, financial accounting methods, charitable expenses taken, fines incurred, as necessary to become familiar and to enhance knowledge of the auditee in general.

This position is in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Revenue Tax Auditor 1, 2 or 3 depending upon the qualifications of the candidate selected.

This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level:
The Revenue Tax Auditor 1 (AS-614) has a starting rate of: $21.33/hourly; $1706.40 biweekly. The Revenue Tax Auditor 2 (AS-615) has a starting rate of: $22.82/hourly; $1825.60 biweekly.
The Revenue Tax Auditor 3 (AS-617) has a starting rate of: $25.21/hourly; $2016.80 biweekly.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Revenue Tax Auditor series has an established special entrance rate (SER) that is set above the minimum of the pay range. The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title and NOTthe maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.**

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Possession of designation as a Certified Public Accountant or CPA Inactive will substitute for the baccalaureate degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting.

Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

This position requires travel on a regular basis to audit locations or attend meetings, conferences, training classes, or other work locations throughout the United States.
