The 1st Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch has an immediate opening for a Court Reporter with the following Counties:

• Winneshiek - Judge Parrish

• Captures court testimony and proceedings with stenography machine.
• Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request.
• Prepares transcripts, performs general office work.
• Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings.
• Performs related work as determined by Judge, Chief Judge or designee.
• Electronic document filing required in all counites within the District.
• May be required to work for any Judicial Officer in the District per operational needs.
• May require travel

Graduation from high school (GED); graduation from a school of court reporting with courses including legal and medical terminology, English, typing and law.
Must be certified as a court reporter by the Iowa Board of Shorthand Reporters or become certified within one (1) year of hire.
