Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center located in Anna, Illinois to perform routine housekeeping functions.

Maintains the cleanliness and sanitary environment of assigned areas. Operates a variety of cleaning machines and equipment.

Reports equipment repairs, supply shortages and reordering to the supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

Performs routine housekeeping functions. Performs manual tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing of floors.

Performs manual tasks such as dusting, polishing, and cleaning furniture woodwork, vents, fixtures and equipment, washing windows, cleaning windowsills inside and outside.

Operates a variety of cleaning machines and equipment in daily function, responsible for the care and storage of equipment and materials.

Maintains the cleanliness and sanitary environment of assigned areas to ensure that sanitation standards are met.

Functions interchangeably with other housekeeping personnel. In the performance of job duties works after business hours, weekends, and holidays.

Reports equipment repairs to the supervisor, such as electrical equipment, plumbing, etc.

Maintains adequate housekeeping supplies.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.

Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Work Hours : Mon-Fri 6 : 45am-3pm
