This is a Contractual position for events held at the World Shooting & Recreation Complex.

Position Overview

The Berm Technician II must be able to run a match, which includes: conducting shooters meeting (i.e. safety precautions), squad shooters, understand and enforce rules for competition, registration of match, fix/repair targets during match, be visible and available for questions or concerns with participants and/or spectators, make sure all tablets and buckets are collected and accounted for, finish up match (cover targets, take down targets, secure match and monies); help set up match, which includes: help design stages, set up stages, prepare for matches; Manage public open range, which includes: sign in and collect money from shooters, set up targets for shooters; Range maintenance, which includes: help with trash collection, help with mowing, berm and bay maintenance; target and prop fabrication and maintenance; perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct registration of match;
  • Fix/repair targets during match;
  • Be visible and available for questions or concerns with participants and/or spectators;
  • Make sure all tablets and buckets are collected and accounted for, finish up match (cover targets, take down targets, secure match and monies);
  • Help set up match, which includes: help design stages, set up stages, prepare for matches;
  • Manage public open range, which includes: sign in and collect money from shooters, set up targets for shooters;
  • Range maintenance, which includes: help with trash collection, help with mowing, berm and bay maintenance; target and prop fabrication and maintenance;
  • Perform other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a High School diploma.
  • Required experience competing in a pistol/rifle competition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers knowledge of firearms and calibers;
  • Prefers experience with hosting shooting competitions;
  • Prefers experience with machinery and equipment (UTV, forklift, tractor, etc.).

Conditions of Employment

All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position.

  • Must be a minimum of 17 years old;
  • Possession of a valid Drivers License;
  • Requires ability to lift, carry, transports loads up to 50 pounds;
  • Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities;
  • Requires ability to work most weekends, with occasional evening or holiday for events;
  • Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some longs shifts up to 9-10 hours;
  • Ability to pass background check;
  • Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
