The Idaho State Tax Commission is searching for a Taxpayer Services Specialist Lead. This lead role will manage a team in the Taxpayer Resources Unit assigning daily directions to team members, monitoring and managing performance of staff, and serving as a lead representative between the taxpayer and the tax commission for problem resolution. A salary analysis will be conducted for the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and delegate daily work responsibilities in the call center
  • Assist management with forecasting of incoming work
  • Assume the role of lead worker to train, assign, and monitor the work of staff
  • Mentor the TPS representatives toward acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to advance within the Tax Commission
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities to create efficiency and to communicate with customers in an appropriate and professional manner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of work experience that included interpreting, applying, and explaining federal or state tax laws, rules, legal or administrative rules
  • Completion of a class or seminar (more than 8 hours) covering supervisory practices OR a college level course that covered supervisory practices OR at least 3 months of lead work experience that included work assignment, direction, and monitoring staff.
  • At least 1 year of work experience that included performing word processing functions including Microsoft Office to create and modify documents
  • At least 1 year of work experience interpreting and communicating technical or specialized material into written information understandable by the public.
  • At least 1 year of work experience developing and making presentations before groups.
