Salary: $5,713 to $6,949 per month (SR-24, Step D to I).

Duties Summary

Supervises a staff of right-of-way agents engaged in the review and analysis of appraisal reports rendered by staff or fee appraisers and performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Basic Education: Applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.Specialized Experience: Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of experience in one or a combination of the following:
A. Appraisal of real property. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles, theories, methods and techniques of real property appraising and must also have demonstrated ability to deal satisfactorily with associates and the public.
B. Acquisition of real property and rights-of-way. Such experience must have involved the determination of the true market value of the property, utilization of appraisal methods and the negotiation for the acquisition of the property.
C. Property management: The experience must have involved such activities as determining best use and fair rental rate or lease for the property, preparing the rental agreement, and ensuring that the terms and conditions of the agreement are fulfilled and disposing of property.
Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader; or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory capabilities exist; or by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements, will apply.
Professional License Requirement: Applicants must possess certification as a Certified General Appraiser (CGA) recognized by the State of Hawaii, at the time of application.
