Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position serves as the Maintenance Mechanic and works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent I-SES, position #64029683. This is semi-skilled work performing maintenance duties at any one of the four Florida Department of Health buildings located throughout Volusia County.

This position will be responsible for duties to include, but not limited to:

moving, organizing, packing, transporting and set up of office items and equipment

Plumbing repairs

Replacement of air conditioning filters, repair of heating/ air conditioning systems, fan belt replacements, grease motors, or other items as needed.

Electrical repairs as needed under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendant

Pressure washing of facilities, sidewalks and maintaining said equipment as directed

Travelling to all facilities of the department to handle maintenance needs

Participation in the on call rotation schedule and willing to report to any of the 4 facilities afterhours or on weekends as needed to resolve issues

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to follow written or oral instructions

Ability to perform routine maintenance task

Knowledge of materials, methods and tools of basic maintenance functions

Qualifications:

Minimum -

Must have ability to follow written or oral instructions

Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Muat have a valid unrestricted Drivers License

Preferred -

Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
